Tiffany Skinner, BSN, MSN, NP

Tiffany knew at age 16 that she wanted to be a nurse practitioner, and she realized that goal in 2007 when she earned her certification. After graduating from East Tennessee State and working several years as a critical care and cardiac care nurse, Tiffany enrolled in the master’s program at UT Knoxville. Her faculty mentors and classmates were a great source of inspiration and constant reminder of the importance of the profession. Teaching undergraduate courses reinforced the realities and challenges of nursing.

In her role as a nurse practitioner, Tiffany wants patients to see her as an advocate who can improve interactions with their physician. By increasing patients’ comfort and communication, she wants them to feel that they have two healthcare providers working in their behalf. She is certified in Tikosyn Therapy and works closely with Dr. Jeffrey Hirsh, seeing patients when he is unavailable and doing telephone follow-up with them.
Leisure time will find Tiffany camping and spending time with her husband and their daughter.
