Joseph Chensin Liu, MD
“Cardiology intrigues me because it is an ever-changing field that provides constant challenges.” Dr. Liu comes to us from the Midwest. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he graduated from Northwestern University with a BS with Distinction in Biomedical Engineering before going on to earn his MD from Northwestern University Medical School. Following his graduate work, Dr. Liu completed a residency in internal medicine at Keesler Medical Center, Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi. He then did a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas where he also served as Medical Director of the Cardiology Clinic. A Major in the United States Air Force, Medical Corps, Dr. Liu joined the staff of University Cardiology in 2000 after receiving an honorable discharge from the military. Dr. Liu and his wife have three children, all who stay very active in sports. Education
