Born in 1969, Dr. Hirsh earned an undergraduate degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Rutgers University, Rutgers College, in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He then went on to receive his MD from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, New Jersey Medical School in Newark.

Dr. Hirsh completed both an internship and a residency in internal medicine at Beth Israel Hospital, Harvard Medical School, where he was named a Clinical Fellow in Medicine. He continued his postgraduate education with a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta and an additional fellowship in clinical cardiac electrophysiology and pacing at the Oregon Health and Science Center in Portland.

Dr. Hirsh has been with University Cardiology since 2002.
