Heart Healthy RecipesBaked Apples
Mix the sugar and cinnamon OR…one tablespoon brown sugar may be used in place of sugar & cinnamon. Wash and core apples...do not cut all the way through the bottom of the apple; after cutting off the top of the apple, peel one strip around the top of the apple. An ice tea spoon works well to remove the seeds. Fill the openings of the apples with the sugar/cinnamon mixture. Place apples in a baking dish, and cover the bottom of the dish with approximately ½ inch of water. Bake uncovered until apples are tender when pierced with a fork. Bake for ~45 minutes. (Time may vary with the apple and variety). Note: As they bake, the apples will make your house smell wonderful! These are healthy, easy and oh, so tasty.
